This course helps Grade 5 students join a book club with confidence. Students learn how to take a discussion role, ask questions that lead to better thinking, use text evidence in conversation, and disagree respectfully when ideas do not match.

Parent guide
Work through the course in order. First practice roles, then question-and-evidence talk, and finally respectful disagreement. Keep each practice round short and ask the student to say their thinking out loud.
Completion
A student finishes this course when they can take part in a short book club discussion, ask thoughtful questions, point to text evidence, and disagree respectfully.
