Meet the Five Senses
What students learn
Students learn the names of the five senses and the body parts that use them.
Why it matters
When children know the five senses, they can talk about the world in a clearer way. They can say what they see, hear, smell, taste, and touch instead of only saying something feels nice or looks fun.
Learn the idea
Start with and so the learner can hear the names and match them to real body parts. Then use and to repeat the idea in a second voice and a second rhythm.
Try it
Ask the child to point to their eyes, ears, nose, tongue, and hands. Then say one sense at a time and let them point to the matching body part.
Parent guide
Keep this lesson light and playful. Use real objects and simple questions, and let the child answer by pointing before they explain in words.
